DESCRIPTION:First Tuedsay Membership Breakfast Sheriff Jud Smith will be our Speaker Jud Smith is a native of Winder\, GA. He graduated from Winder-Barrow High School in 1994\, and is a graduate of Columbus State University\, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice\, and a Masters in Public Administration. After two years with the Athens-Clarke County Patrol Office\, Sheriff Smith returned to his roots\, as an officer in the Winder Police Department\, rising to the rank of Sergeant before being running\, and being elected\, as Sheriff of Barrow County. Sheriff Smith is active in the Barrow County community as the Chief Volunteer for the Boys and Girls Club of Barrow County\, holding the title of President. He is also on the Board of Directors of Peace Place\, is President of the Winder Noon Lions Club\, is a member of the Georgia Sheriff's Association\, and is currently a member of the Nominating Committee. Sheriff Smith has been recognized as the Officer of the Year by the Winder Noon Lions Club\, received the Boys and Girls Club Distinguished Service Award\, and was selected as the Officer of the Year by the Winder Kiwanis Club.
